Synopsis: When a divorced mom tries to start dating again, her kids and her dog set out to sabotage the dates. They are successful until her high school sweetheart shows up and he’s onto them and they do a comedic battle to sway their mom’s heart away from her high school sweetheart back to their father.

Parents need to know that In the Doghouse, made in 2014, sets a brother and sister against their divorced mom's suspicious suitor, who appears to be after her money. Language includes "pee," "fart," and "crap." While the movie is family-friendly in that it doesn't have iffy content, its poor overall quality may challenge the viewer's patience (although kids who don't care about plot will stop love the adorable dog).

When parents get divorced, sometimes the children try everything in their power to get their parents back together. This story is a hilarious take on that exact theme.

Justin and Amanda are told by their mom Wendy that she is going to start dating again. The children come up with a plan to stop anything that may happen with her dates from leading to something more. There are pranks galore pulled on each unsuspecting man until one high school sweetheart shows up. Can they get this man out of their mom’s life? Are they up to the challenge or will Dave, the ex-boyfriend, win?

A funny movie that sometimes hits home to reality of many in today’s world. Although the antics and extent these kids use is not advised, the movie uses comedy to showcase the situation. We award the Dove Family-Approved Seal for ages 12-plus.
